Cheesecake Dip Recipe
Some cheesecake dips call for marshmallow fluff, but this recipe with sugar and heavy cream, is light and fluffy on its own, leaving just rich and creamy cream cheese. I love that it has so few ingredients; mostly kitchen staples, with maybe the exception of cream cheese.
And while I do enjoy noshing on this dip on my own, it’s also perfect to take to a party or to whip up when someone swings by the house. It’s also great for a snack for the kiddos, and they can even help to make it, it’s that simple!
Ingredients
- Cream cheese – ensuring that you soften the cream cheese will make sure that you can easily mix together the ingredients. Leave cream cheese on the counter for about an hour prior to making the dip. Did you know that you can freeze cream cheese? Buy it on sale or in bulk and store it in the freezer for up to a year!
- Unsalted butter– make sure that the butter that you use is definitely unsalted. The coarse Kosher salt will add plenty of flavor. If using salted butter, omit the additional salt.
- Granulated sugar- using this instead of granulated sugar will help to keep the texture smooth.
- Coarse Kosher salt– salt helps to round out the flavors in the recipe, elevating ingredients like the sweetness of the powdered sugar.
- Heavy whipping cream– using heavy cream helps to build the creaminess of the dip instead of using fluff or whipped topping. It almost tastes like a richer chocolate cream cheese frosting.
- Chocolate Syrup- Yep, instead of using melted chocolate, which can sometimes be challenging to temper, or cocoa powder, which can be a little grainy, I grabbed a bottle of chocolate syrup and it provided chocolatey flavor in an easy form.
How To Make Chocolate Cheesecake Dip
- In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, or in a large mixing bowl using an electric hand mixer, combine the cream cheese and butter until smooth. This should take just a minute or two.
- Add the sugar, chocolate syrup and salt to the mixture. Then, beat for one minute until all ingredients are evenly combined.
- Pour in the whipping cream. Beat the mixture for about two minutes, ensuring that the finished product is light and fluffy. It should take approximately two minutes and might start off a little clunky, this is normal.
- Pour the cheesecake dip into the serving bowl. Using a spatula spread the dip evenly. You may want to pick the bowl up and tap it on the counter several times to help even out the dip and have it settle in the bowl.
- For best results, refrigerate for an hour before serving so the dip has time to set up back.
- Serve with your favorite dippers.
